Cross-Party Support:
DFDS has recently announced to end the passenger service on the Rosyth to Zeebrugge ferry service in December 2010. Mr Chapman has been working to try to salvage something from the situation. John Park, Labour MSP for Mid Scotland said, "I have Vital Link For Tourists: The ferry is a vital link for tourists from the continent. There is currently a ferry running between Amsterdam and Newcastle. One idea put forward is a ferry carrying passengers on a mini-cruise between Europe and Scotland. Mr Chapman said "The benefits for Scotland are huge in terms of attracting tourists and we cannot lose sight of the market that brings tourists directly to Scotland instead of through the Channel or east of England ports." Ferries To Belgium: The Rosyth to Zeebrugge route offers luxury ferry travel providing services from Rosyth (near Edinburgh) on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and from Zeebrugge (near Bruges) on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Travellers can get many travel benefits for making their trip to Belgium with Scotland Belgium ferries. Get more knowledge about Ferry To Belgium and travel happily. |

secured cross-party support for his motion to reinstate the passenger ferry service from Rosyth to Zeebrugge. I am pursuing all possible avenues to see if we can get the passenger service reinstated and have also written to the transport minister requesting an update on what the Scottish Government are doing about this."
